Trick or Treat March 30th October 2009

In particular, well done to Owen Thompson who pulled in over 500 names by himself - on course to be one of the first members of the 300!

I promise to have more news from outside of Auckland next week.

Auckland Stall volunteers needed
this weekend
This weekend in Auckland we are looking for volunteers for some big upcoming stalls - do you have any free time at the weekends?

Fat Freddys Drop at the Powerstation from about 6.15pm

Nickleback at Vector Arena Saturday 7th November from 6pm
We want to get 10 volunteers for the Powerstation and 20 for the Vector Arena.

Later on this month we are going to increase our campaign team to 50 people and then 100 people gathering petitions at the Santa Parade, the March for Democracy and the Grey Lynn Festival.

Everybody who volunteers and gets 100 names in these three hour sessions will get a campaign for a living wage t shirt and baseball cap.

So txt Joe at 029 44 55 702 if you're ready to volunteer. We hope to get thousands of signatures in one big harvest!

Trick or Treat March 30th October 2009

Living dead demand a Living Wage

The Halloween Trick or Treat march last Friday was colourful, noisy, humourous and made quite an impact on Queen Street. It was pretty well impossible to miss Unite's giant inflatable rat, accompanied by hundreds of zombies, vampires, ghosts and the odd pirate - who all seemed to be particularly lively and happy despite being dead.....
